Much as they carry out their beautiful acts of chesed from behind the scenes, Avi and Pessi Goldstein are in truth pillars of our community, graciously and enthusiastically supporting so many wonderful endeavors.
Avi is President and CEO of HotelRooms.com and Luxury Connections, and Pessi is an accomplished court reporter. But their avocation is chesed and community activism, and they are known for their hearts of gold in the Cedarhurst community and beyond. Like Achiezer, their goal is to make others happy and to help in any way they can. The Goldsteins are also active members and supporters of the “Red Shul,” led by Rabbi Yaakov Feitman, as well as of their children’s schools.
Avi and Pessi carry on a legacy of warmth and caring exemplified by their beloved parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tuli and Mattie Goldstein, longtime residents of Kew Gardens Hills and Mr. and Mrs. Moishe and Shushie Katz of Brooklyn, who have always opened their homes and hearts to those in need.
The Goldsteins have passed this legacy on to their three wonderful children. Naomi, an eleventh grader at SKA, spent part of her summer as an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer in Achiezer’s office. Sammy and Dani, eighth- and fourth-grade talmidim at Yeshiva Darchei Torah, are thriving under the unparalleled leadership of master mechanech Rabbi Yaakov Bender, father of Achiezer’s Rabbi Boruch Ber Bender.
The Goldsteins are dear friends of Achiezer and have stood behind Rabbi Bender and so many Achiezer initiatives throughout the years. They are passionate about everything that Achiezer does and deeply value its efforts and benefit to our community.
We are truly fortunate to recognize Avi and Pessi Goldstein, exemplars of what it means to really care for every Jew, as this year’s Guests of Honor.
