Beloved figures in our community, role models and exceptional mechanchim, Rabbi Elysha and Mrs. Rachel Sandler are most fitting recipients of the Rabbinic Leadership Award.
Rabbi Sandler contributes to our community with singular dedication in his role as the Rav of Kehilas Bais Yisroel, where Achiezer’s President, Rabbi Boruch Ber Bender, is privileged to daven and gain chizuk from Rabbi Sandler’s warm leadership. Those who attend Rabbi Sandler’s popular melave malkas gain much from his words of wisdom and the elevated atmosphere.
Rabbi Sandler is also a very successful mechanech with many years of experience, primarily as a twelfth-grade rebbi at Mesivta Ateres Yaakov of Greater Long Island for the past eighteen years. In his current role as Mashgiach in Yeshivas Sh’or Yoshuv, he guides his talmidim in their growth in Torah and yiras Shamayim. In addition, Rabbi Sandler has touched many who have not been fortunate to be his talmidim directly through his powerful English sefarim, Through Music and Song: A Torah Perspective on Music and Sparkling Speech: Exploring the Essence of Refined Speech.
Mrs. Rachel Sandler complements her husband’s efforts in her role as beloved morah in TAG High School. She has made a lasting impression on countless girls through her positivity and belief in them.
Rabbi and Mrs. Sandler have been enthusiastic about Achiezer and its mission since its inception and have shown their encouragement and support to Rabbi Bender and his colleagues for the wonderful work they do.
