SHABSI SCHREIER

Man of the Year

More than just “Man of the Year,” Mr. Shabsi Schreier is also Achiezer’s “Man of the Hour,” epitomizing our mission of always being available and on call, no matter the day, no matter the time.

Originally from Brooklyn, Mr. Schreier is a graduate of Yeshiva University and received an MBA in healthcare administration from Baruch College. He has since worked in the healthcare industry for over thirty years, in areas ranging from hospital administration, urgent care, medical staffing and home care. Currently, he serves as an Executive Director at Caring Professionals, a home care agency recognized for its commitment to excellence, efficiency and the comfort of the patients and families it serves.

A resident of the Five Towns for twenty-five years, Mr. Schreier combines his professional expertise and unique experience in finding and matching appropriate home health aides with his innate desire to do chesed and give back to the community. Achiezer has reached out to him countless times, often at the most inconvenient times – whether twenty minutes before Rosh Hashanah or in the wee hours of the morning – and he always comes through, providing the best care to the community during the most difficult times.

Mr. Schreier and his wonderful wife Julie, an assistant vice president at YU, are active lay leaders in our community, particularly through their involvement with the Young Israel of Woodmere and HALB. Mr. Schreier is directly responsible for founding multiple minyanim at the Young Israel, enabling residents of the Five Towns to daven with the tzibbur at almost any time of day or night.

We are proud to recognize Mr. Schreier as this year’s “Man of the Year,” a true partner to Achiezer and an outstanding example to all.
