Tuesday Evening Update
Evening Update 11/13
Dinner will not be served at Shor Yoshuv tonight.
We want to profusely thank Shor Yoshuv for their incredible graciousness in hosting our food distribution thus far, and continuing to allow us to keep our clothing center there.
The JCCRP and Achiezer will be sponsoring dinner tonight at TAG High School located at 636 Lanett Avenue.
We will also have staff on hand to answer any questions that you may have.
There will also be food distribution setup at Congregation Beth Shalom, located at 390 Broadway in Lawrence.
POWER
There has been a lot of confusion regarding power being turned on/and even possibly back off in parts of Bayswater.
We have spent many hours working with Phil Goldfeder and other officials to get this issue resolved.
They have confirmed the following:
If you are in a flooded zone you need to get certified.
If you are not you do not. They hope that this will be entirely resolved shortly.
CLOTHING
The Achiezer clothing center will now be open from 10 AM to 10 PM.
Please feel free to go there at any time and we will quietly and comfortably get you whatever is needed.
Special important message regarding lost or Destroyed Kesuva (marriage) Documents from Rabbi Binyamin Forst Shlita:
All those that suffered loss of personal belongings during the tragedy are reminded of the halachic necessity that a married couple know the whereabouts of their kesuva marriage document. If ones kesuva has been lost or destroyed (or otherwise mutilated or erased) it must be replaced with a specialized kesuva document immediately. The Halacha Hotline of the Five Towns and Far Rockaway Community under the leadership of Rabbi Binyomin Forst has made themselves available free of charge to anyone who needs this service. They can be reached at 516-239-2500.
