Achiezer COVID-19 Update Wednesday 4/1 4PM
April 01, 2020
Dear Community,

It is remarkable to see the outpouring of support within the community, whether financially, logistically or otherwise.

* Dozens and dozens of pieces of specialty medical equipment have been procured and set up under the guidance of physicians.
* Over 400 grocery orders have been shopped and delivered for those in quarantine.
* Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been quietly collected and disbursed with dignity to community members whose finances have been directly affected by the coronavirus.

There are still a number of community members that are in critical condition. Undoubtedly however, the community-wide "shut-down" is our best defense. As Yom Tov quickly approaches, we have been asked by many as to whether it is safe for grandparents and other guests to visit their children and other families and friends for Pesach and vice versa. While we still encourage you to reach out to your primary care physician and Rabbi, the general consensus of our guiding physicians is that the variables of the antibodies and contagions of the virus are still too unclear and it is safest to only spend Yom Tov with your immediate family (i.e., those currently living in your home). The risk is simply too high.

We understand that this is a difficult and painful time for people to be alone.

To that end, we are organizing a community-wide effort to ensure that those who will be alone for Yom Tov receive love and support for Pesach. Please reach out if you will be spending Yom Tov alone or if you know someone who will be spending Yom Tov alone so that we can try and bring joy to everyone's Yom Tov.

Achiezer's Westwood Financial Management Program has received dozens of inquiries in light of the current economic climate. Please visit our website for an informative video from Stacey Zrihen, Senior Financial Advisor, on how to budget during this time period.
